Progressive Groups and UN Expert Engineered Carini’s Downfall

Angela Carini, Italian boxer forced to compete against a biological male in this year’s Women’s Boxing Olympics, ended up leaving the fight after 46 seconds as she suffered a strong hit from her opponent, Imane Khelif . “I have never felt a punch like this,” Carini told a reporter. 

The decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow a biological male to compete in women’s boxing should not shock anyone. What we just witnessed on the world stage is the natural conclusion of the progressive worldview the Committee and many other influential world bodies, including some UN agencies, promote in the name of tolerance and, oddly enough, “non-discrimination.”

In response to the public outcry against the injustice Carini just faced, the IOC released a statement in support of, you guessed it, the two transgender athletes participating in women’s Olympics this year! You cannot make this stuff up. 

What is even more ridiculous is that the IOC wants us to believe not only that the game was fair, but that thinking of Imane Khelif as a transgender person is actually false and “rude.” According to the IOC chief spokesman Mark Adams, “the two fighters were not transgender athletes and should not be described as such.”

In 2021, the IOC released a framework on “fairness, inclusion, and non-discrimination on the basis of gender identity” which calls on sports organizations to “work together to advance inclusion and prevent discrimination based on gender identity and/or sex variations.”

The UN Special Rapporteur for Cultural Rights Alexandra Xanthaki praised the IOC framework as a “ a commendable step in this direction.” At a recent UN Human Rights Council Meeting on human rights in sports, Xanthaki showed hostility towards those who raised concerns about biological men competing in women’s sports.

When ADF International talked about the physical differences between men and women and how such a progressive interpretation of the IOC framework could lead to discrimination against women, Xanthaki responded by saying she is relieved that “voices advocating for the exclusion or segregation for transgender athletes are not seriously taken into account.”

Many public figures have already weighed in on the event. Italian President Georgia Meloni called the competition unequal and spoke against people with “male genetic characteristics” competing in women’s sports. 

Addressing the Head of the Safe Sport Unit at the IOC, JK Rowling said “A young female boxer has just had everything she’s worked and trained for snatched away because you allowed a male to get in the ring with her. You’re a disgrace, your ‘safeguarding’ is a joke and #Paris24 will be forever tarnished by the brutal injustice done to Carini.”

Reem Alsalem UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women said on her X account that Carini “rightly followed her instincts and prioritized her physical safety, but she and other female athletes should not have been exposed to this physical and psychological Violence based on their sex.”
