Member State Statements
Patrick Breen, the U.S. Adviser for the Third Committee, called for a future UN report to “address the negative effects of the anti-rights and anti-gender movements on the advancement of gender equity and equality.”
The EU, US, UK, Ireland, and Latvia expressed concerns about increasing incidents of intimidation that obstruct positive interactions between civil society and the UN. Paradoxically, pro-life and pro-family organizations attempting to engage with the UN are sometimes labeled as 'anti-rights' and even face exclusion from certain events due to their unique perspective.
